At our September meeting, we learned from Mark Hackley of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank Network that the food bank can buy many times more food with our gifts of money than we can purchase with the same dollars to give them a donation of food. A message from Piedmont Environmental Council: "We are looking for volunteers for a few hours on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4th. Individuals of all ages are welcome to come spend a fun couple of hours with your friends at PEC at the polls! We'll give you all of the materials and training necessary." Prince William Regional Beekeepers Association (includes Northern Fauquier County) will be holding Introduction to Beekeeping Classes again starting Thursday, Feb. 12th. This is a 7 week class held at the St. Benedict Monastery in Bristow from 7 to 9 pm. The cost is $100 per family unit and includes all books, teaching materials and membership in the association.
