We are very happy to announce that our topic for this month will be "Introducing the Farm-to-Table Program: Growing Agriculture, Nutrition, and Community in Public Schools." Our speaker will be Trista Scheuerlein, Director of the Rappahannock Farm-to-Table Program.

Trista will be discussing how Farm-to-Table works in Rappahannock County to provide hands-on experiences in sustainable agriculture and nutritional education through an innovative multi-disciplinary approach in the public school system, and how creating the next crop of healthy students also supports our local food system and our rural ag-based economy. She will also speak briefly about other programs that are happening in Virginia, and about what it takes to get a program like this one started.

For more information on the Rappahannock program click here.

We will be meeting at our new home, the Marshall Community Center at 4133-A Rectortown Road, Marshall, VA. Please bring a dish to contribute to our pot luck supper if you can, and join us to learn about this very interesting topic.
